On what devices can I use ActExs?

Currently you can use ActExs on all iOS devices with at least iOS 9.0 as well as on all Android devices with version 5.0 or higher.

Which iOS version do I need, in order to be able to install ActExs?

ActExs is supported on iOS 9.0 and later, though, we highly recommend you to have your iOS constantly updated, in order to have a smooth experience.

Can I sync data on several devices?

Currently, sync of data between two or more devices is not possible with this version of ActExs. To be able to sync, you will have to upgrade to “ActExs Plus” which will be available soon.

How is my data protected?

For this version of ActExs we only need to collect your email address for technical support reasons.

Additionally, we also separately (not linked to your email address) collect by cookies the following data:

Your OS version; Your device version; Your screen resolution; Your IP address. This data is only used for solving technical issues.

We do not collect or have access to any of the documents you have uploaded in ActExs, or any content you have done (notes, actions, etc.).

Isn't a smartphone screen too small for using ActExs?

ActExs is optimised to be used on smartphones with screen size of at least 4″ (iPhone 5). Though, using it in such resolutions will not give the best results if used for free-hand annotation, it is still a great companion for managing your documents and inspirations.

What do I have to set up on my mobile device before downloading, so I can use ActExs at its maximum?

ActExs is designed to be able to collaborate with all native iOS approaches. It requires the local Apple Mail app to be configured, in order to be able to send emails with content from ActExs.

Can I send emails from ActExs without using default Apple Mail app?

Currently, we are supporting only collaboration with Apple Mail app, though, it is in our pipeline to offer soon a solution which will not be dependant on the locally used mail app.

What file formats can I open in ActExs?

ActExs supports two file formats: PDF files and image files. In our next versions, we will be expanding the list with support file formats.

In the meantime, you can use the following free servers, in order to be able to convert our current files to PDFs:

How can I insert a PDF file in ActExs directly from an email in my Apple Mail app?

Yes, inserting a file in ActExs from your Apple Mail app is very easy and fully native as functionality. All you have to do is:

Open your Apple Mail app; Open the email containing the PDF file you would like to add in ActExs; Click on the PDF file, in order to open it; Click on Export icon Click on Open In button as a next step:

Click on “Copy to ActExs” icon; ActExs app will start and you will be brought to a screen, where the file will be already pre-loaded in ActExs and you will just have to select or create a session and then click “Done”.

How can I insert a PDF file in ActExs from my local Dropbox, iCloud or any other storage app?

ActExs is using the default native iOS approach for transferring files, from one mobile app to another.

You just have to follow the following generic steps:

Open your local storage app (Dropbox, iCloud Drive, etc.); Open the PDF file you want to transfer to ActExs; Click on the Export icon: Click on the Open In icon:

Click on “Copy to ActExs” icon; Your ActExs app will open, and you will have your file already preloaded there. You will just need to create or choose an already existing session and click “Done” button.

How can I insert a PDF file in ActExs from my local Google Drive app?

In order to add a PDF file from your local Google drive app, you have to perform the following steps:

Make sure you have Google Drive app already installed and configured; Open ActExs and from Dashboard screen – click on “Add document” button; For “Document type” – select “Add PDF” option; Click on the “+” icon, you will receive a screen similar to this:

In case, you are not able to see Google Drive listed as in the screenshot above, you should click on “More” and make sure Google Drive is enabled as on this sample:

Then you have to browse in Google Drive until your find your PDF file and then click on the file name; You will be brought back to the Add document screen in ActExs and you will be able to see your file already pre-selected; Select an already existing session or create a new one and click “Done”.

I am trying to insert a photo from my camera / album, but nothing happens

In order to be able to insert a photo, ActExs will require access to your camera and photo album, which you will have to accept.

In case, you are not asked for permissions and nothing happens on your mobile device, we highly recommend you to check whether you have a restriction policy enabled. You can do this by going to Settings – General – Restrictions and make sure you have disabled your restrictions. Then, you should re-open ActExs and check whether you will be prompted for permissions

I am trying to insert a contact from my Address book, but nothing happens

In order to be able to insert a contact from your Address book, ActExs will require access to your Address book, which you will have to accept.

In case, you are not asked for permissions and nothing happens on your mobile device, we highly recommend you to check whether you have a restriction policy enabled. You can do this by going to Settings / Restrictions and make sure you have disabled your restrictions. Then, you should re-open ActExs and check whether you will be prompted for permissions.

Where is the data hosted?

All data collected throughout our tools is collected on a dedicated server in Germany, according to EU data protection regulations.

How anonymous is my data?

The data your are entering throughout our feedback tools is 100% anonymous. We are doing regular pseudoanonymisation procedures on a 3 months period, in order to further guarantee full anonymisation.

What browser versions are supported?

We support all latest browser version of Chrome, Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera and Edge browsers. The participants front-end support Internet Explorer 6+ versions.

All data collected throughout our tools is collected on a dedicated server in Germany, according to EU data protection regulations.

What internet browsers are supported by Values Indicator?

We support all latest browser version of Edge, Chrome, Firefox and Opera browsers. For Internet Explorer we support only version 11.
